It sounds like a rickety bed, and I can hear it when I drive slowly with the windows down. I can also pull down on each side on the bed and hear it as I pull down. I sprayed the leaf springs and shocks and pretty much the entire underside suspension with wd-40 (alot of it), and it went away mostly, for a little bit.
It never went away fully and the noise is back now, what else can I do to stop this dang squeaking/creaking noise?
p.s.: if any of you are familiar with the beginning of the song "some cut" by trillville...you'll know what I'm talking about!

my cousins 03 rangerwas making the same noise on the front drivers side and after awhile it went away, then he noticed his upper ball joint was totally gone and his wheel bearing went out but idk if that had anything to do with the ball joint. in other words, id check for play in the ball joints.
it takes two guys. one to bounce on the truck fender, and the second guy go crawl under and pin point the problem. first you need to see if it is in the front or the back. If it is the bed, i could be the rubber mounts, metal to metal rubbing, etc. sometimes WD40 is enough, somtimes a thicker lithium grease spray would be better and longer lasting.
If the noise is from the rear, go to your local auto parts store and get some new leaf spring plastic inserts and install them. My 99 did the same thing.
I am 99% sure the I got the answer Because I had the same problem. I don't have the Chilton Manual with me so I am going to have to explain using thingamajig language.
Any way in the same location as your front shocks there is a little tie rod or stabilizer bar that runs vertical. It has rubber on each end that attaches to what is called I believe the lower control arm. I am looking at a blazer book to find similar components. It breaks and the rod keeps jabbing into the lower control arm and makes a hell of a noise. I bought a replacement at autozone and they sold me a set of long bolts that worked fine. The cost was less than 10 bucks.
LSUTiger, I used a floor jack and put it under my trailer hitch. Then jacked the truck up just enough to relieve the rear springs. The tires were still touching the ground. This allows you just enough room between the leaf springs to insert the plastic inserts. I reached in from behind and in front of the tires to put the inserts in. I did not have any troubles.
You may need a screwdriver to pry out the old ones as stick to the leafs a bit. No big deal though.
Good luck. Annoying squeaks are a pain in the rear.
