84 bronco

Hey all, i have a question or your thoughts on this. I have a chance to get a 84 bronco with a 300. Its lifted 8 inches and 0 mile 37's come with it. Also the guy is throwing in a 460 with an auto tranny. I dont know all that is wrong with it, i havnt got a chance to look at it. I was in iraq with the guy, he was trying to get 1500 out of it when i first talked with him about it. Well he bought a house and is a chevy freak anyways, so i can get this all for about 700-800. What kind of mileage do u think i would get outta the 460? I am sure i would have to change the motor mounts and other stuff. The lift and tires alone would be worth the money. Should i just try to keep the 300, and be bogged down all the time change gears. Or should i try and sell or trade it for a 351? Or if you know anyone has that combo. Any help would be appriciated thanks

I can't be much help but i can tell you i had a 90 model f-150 4x4 300 straight 6,5-speed,it was on 39x14.50 boggers with an 8" lift. that truck would pull and pull and pull......energizer bunny. don't underestimate the little 300 it's a very good engine. And for the 460 i'm completely against a big block they just waste gas, if you need that large of an engine it should burn #2 diesel in the cylinders, but thats just my taste. The 460 is reliable and hefty on power. just taken a stab but i'd say 12 mpg hwy stock.
