I have a 94' F250 4x4 7.3L N/A that I am in the process of installing a stock turbo from a 7.3L turbo motor on. My question is the bundle of wires that runs a loop around the intake by the valve covers. These wires run down one side to the glow plug relay and then loop around and run back up the other side. W/ the turbo in place the wires run under the exhaust outlet housing for the turbo. Will they get too hot and possibly melt? Sould I move them? Should I move the glow plug relay and if so were to? Or should I just wrap the turbo w/ header wrap and call it good? Thanks in advance!

In the factory turbo installation the glow plug relay is relocated to the top of the passenger side fender with a different harness than what the N/A motors use.
You can see my Glow Plug relay from my 93' factory turbo in the attached picture. (ignore the fuel filter it is custom change I made.)
Wow, that's a pretty serious hunk of aluminum you've got for a tool box there.
The toolbox is probably the best thing I ever did to my truck. It is so handy and got all the tools I usually need to do 95% of the regular maintenance stuff.

I see you've got the fuel filter located on it but I was thinking it would be a good platform for a coolant filter setup. I would have to do some relocating of piecesparts to make it work though, such as the vacuum low pressure sender, voltage regulator, wire loom, etc. It's a good idea, though.

Way ahead of you on the coolant filter set-up. See attached picture taken from the top. Coolant Filter (red) is located on the left side of the picture. It fits perfectly between the toolbox and the firewall/heater.

Relocate them. Click on the turbo link in my signature to see how I relocated mine. Fairly esay.
Thanks for the pic this is exactly what I was looking for. I guess I'll give it a try. Is the bracket something I need to make?
Either rig something up or get a rockercover from a factory diesel and install it. Probably hard to find one.
No matter what you do you should move the GP unit away from the turbo as it gets to hot. Also not the factory turbos have quite a few custom heat shields around them. At 1,000 - 1200 deg. F it can get pretty toasty and you definetely will want some heat shields even is all you do is use some Fiberglass wrap with aluminium foil on the outside to wrap the turbo outlet housing, downpipe and inlet pipes.
Yes, you will have to make the bracket, or try to buy it from Hypermax. It came with my turbo kit. Should be simple enuf to make though.
On the wiring layout you just remove all the wire from the wire loom and lay it out so everything crosses over at the front, mount the controller where shown and reinstall the wires in the loom. No cutting required.
Yes, given the tight clearances you definetely want to wrap the downpipe. Your firewall could get hot enough to start your carpet in the cab on fire and melt some of the plastic parts in the immediate vicinity.
I think guys like Dave S have gotten around this by raising the body of the truck to give themselve a little more clearance. The factory downpipe is really tight and wrapped with a neat heatshield.
