I am looking at the ISSPRO gauge pods on dieselmanor.com and was wondering what boost # gauge I should get, 30 or 40#. I here people getting over 30# but not 40#. Didn't ever want to run out or gauge before boost. Thanks for helping me make up my mind..
I think with stock injectors, you will not see more than 31-32psi without spraying drugs. I'd go with a 30psi gauge, as it is easier to read closer to the exact PSI, numbers spread farther apart than on the 40# gauge in the same swing arc.
I have 6637, and the superchip for now. I don't plain on going to wild but you never know. I would like to get the WW or ats but I wanted to get the gauges first. Plus a straight pipe.
Yes, if you are running the Performance or Extreme tunes, go ahead and get those gauges. Spend the $50 or so it costs to get the straight pipe now, get rid of that stock muffler, they are one hell of a restriction. restriction=heat.
I have a early 99 with ford AIS intake that is straight piped and a 1705 super chips on performance i havent seen over 28psi on my auto meter boost gauge but with out the map cheeter you will pull codes every time
I have the 40# and it is perfect. Go with the 40# and you can grow into it. The spacing is the same with Isspro, every line is 2 PSI so it doesnt change.
Hi CSIPSD,
I'd reccomend the 30PSI gauge. You'll be able to read it more clearly and the stock turbo won't allow you to put out more than 27PSI anyway as the wastegate will open up. The 30PSI gauge has increments of: 0, 5, 10 so on with tick marks for every PSI. The 40# gauge has increments of 0, 10, 20 so on with tick markes every 2 PSI. Usually you'll be operating at 6PSI or lower while driving around town. The 30PSI gauge will be a little easier to read. If you have any other questions let me know. Glad to help.

Good point, and Boost gauges are relativly cheap, so if you upgrade in the future its not a big deal to drop another $50 on a new boost gauge...
I have a 40# boost and a 40# manifold, because I wanted them to match so to speak... But I need a 60# manifold pressure now....
Another vote for the 30lb gauge.
If you are going to make 40, then the expense of making an engine that will make 40 lb will make a new gauge seem really cheap.
Only thing I can say to that is with a hot chip on a 125 or 140 setting you will peg the 30#... most times you wont be there but it will and did happen with my autometer 35# boost...
I will go with the 30# gauge. If I change to a WW or the ATS would that make a differance in boost or does that just help with the surge. Plus I also have the vac. line pulled off of wast gate. Haven't felt surge yet but I'm mostly in stock form.
I would go with the 30# gauge. You can always sell it on one of the forums or ebay when/if you "outgrow" it. Of course, I am biased - I would like everyone to buy more gauges!
