My right power door lock isn't working well. I want to apply power directly to it to see if wiring might be the source of the problem, but when i took off the door panel I saw no connectors or good places to try and test.
Short of lancing the wires, is there a good way to test this without drilling out the rivet and removing the actuator from the door?
to test actuator u have to islolate the actuator...because the switch reverse the polarity for up or down.....I know this because it took some creative wiring to install keyless entry in my 88 f150....all fords have similar switches for door actuators involving reversing polarity etc.
Well I took care of this a couple weeks ago, but this is what I did: I jammed a needle into each wire going to the actuator, and verified +/- 12v when I used the window switch.
After installing a $20 replacement actuator from the junkyard it's working great again.
