How can Ford be 150 years old? He was born in 1863, and died in 1947.
(note: edited for clarity)
Let's get our Bat super duper spy decoder ring and see if we can do this together;
I think he means when his F150 V6 turns 150 years old it will tow the world??
I think Yoyota is the place in Canada that makes the beef bowls that ranger/Fordman eats.........pretty sure they had a mad cow scare recently.....that would explain a LOT!!!
You guys give me a chuckle every time I read your replys Nothing wrong with a Toyota but, Id love to here the ja*****e man try to tell me how it is better than any other Amercian truck. whats the deal? Ford is 100 years old now. they well one day be 300 years old. mabe the year 2207? if we are still here that is. ford well be about 190 years old when I die, and by then there well be so much Ford trucks still going, the world willl crumble because they weigh so much, haulng all them bigger trailers, loaded to the max.

But if they weigh so much how are they to climb those "nice" hills? I can't believe I'm going to say this but I will have to agree with you on one thing you stated in your post:
"Nothing wrong with a Toyota but, Id love to here me crazy man try to tell everone how better me 98 V6 beter than any other Amercian truck. whats the im smoken?"
In case you are wondering I just revised it so everyone would understand where you are coming from. I even mistyped my parts so you would understand.
when or how is Ford going to go again to be #1 in all aspects, like it was before. Why is loosing that mush money if they were the #1 selling brand. Is it lack of quality, or simply japanese doing better products. Come on Ford you can make it.
Domestics trail the Japanese by $2900 in per vehicle profit. The main reason there's such disparity is labor costs. Sure we've been hearing that line for a while, but check out the data supporting it. Health care alone accounts for $1,635 per vehicle for GM. That's how much they spend on every active AND retired worker. Toyota on the other hand doesn't have many retired workers, doesn't spend a dime on them, and only pays about $215 for health care for active workers. Add to that the $630 per vehicle GM spends on other union related costs like work rules, line relief and holiday pay, plus the $350 per vehicle pay UAW workers get for not working when plants are shut, and you start to see where part of the problem lies.
dawm, Than government should make laws to make japanese,chinese dificult to import their product like they do to our products. In this way also to help our domestics.

Too late, this actually was discussed in 1966, after Toyota arrived here for the second* time. The Big 3 figured that the Japanese companies would make little inroads into the American market. They based that on the fact that only VW was selling economy cars successfully here, with the rest of the foreign stuff (Mercedes, Jag, MG, Alfa Romeo, RR and Bentley) selling less than 2% of the cars in the market.
In the 1950's, many econo boxes were imported by England, Germany, Italy and France. Except for VW, most failed to find a market, and they were unsuited for it anyway. They were quality challenged...Renault, Panhard, Citroen, Simca, Vedette, The Rootes Group..Hillman Minx, English Fords, DKW, Goggomobile, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, etc etc sold OK initially, but fell apart quickly. They were not designed for freeway speeds, the English stuff suffered from Lucas Electrical gremlins, the French and Italian stuff were horrible from the get go, and the German cars, except for VW failed to find a market.
The Big 3 had their chance, did nothing, and found out during the first gas crunch of the 1970's how wrong they had been.
Oh well...
*Toyota first came to the US in 1959 with their Toyopet. Sales were slim and none. They lasted about a year...then, poof...they were gone.
PS: Oh no! I forgot Skoda...but so did everyone else...quickly!
