6.4lt

6.0LT took some time till it adjusted and made the proper corrections, when will it be "safe" to get a 6.4LT?

I'd like to say it'd be safe to buy a brand new one because of what this engine means to Ford and all of the testing they've done, but I would probably wait about 6 months and judge from there to see if there are any problems going on.

I think you should be safe to buy one right away. One of the issues with the 6.0 is that it was rushed to market back in 2003. There was not very much real world testing done on it, and technician training was also a little behind, making them difficult to repair. The 6.4 on the other hand has accumulated millions of real world miles being tested in various climates, and has similarities to the 6.0 for diagnostic procedures, so it shouldn't take techs. too long to get the hang of it.

I hope you are right CanadaGuy,it seems like a strong engine but it is new on the market and still people can not respond on it.
Some say it is difficult to reach as the engine parts are very close, some say the 2 turbos still did not prove themselves.
I would give it 6 months.
Thanks any how.

From the training I got on the 6.4, every 6.0 issue was addressed and repaired. Diesel oxidation catalyst that dries out any exhaust before it enters the coolers and valve (no oily deposits). Diesel particulate filter that cleans up the exhaust. Twin turbos that have both low end an high rpm response. Injectors that only have 2 moving parts. Easy to remove air filter. There isnt any major issues anticipated with this motor. Now, when someone decides to "modify", there will be a lot of things start happening.
