Converting a 9" rear

Is it possible to convert a Ford 9" rear from a 5 lug to an 8 lug setup? I just had a brainstorm the other day about it.

All you have to do is get the axles. You could probably get a new set drilled for 8-lug from Moser, Strange, Superior, etc. for somewhere around $250-300

Ok, supposing that does work what about the drums? How would I change them from a 5 to an eight lug pattern?

I don't think there's enough of an axle flange dia. to drill for the 8 lugs. Measure the dia. and see what you get. Keep in mind the 8 ug pattern has a BC od 6.5.

why would you want to put 8 lug axels in a 9in.?

Honestly, I'd rather upgrade to a D60. Just thought I'd ask about the 9" though.

yoke swap

my old 77 has 205 np with constant vol drive line, threaded yoke.
swap to a u-bolt yoke, a cross at each end .
anyone got a # for the seal ? 50 miles to parts store
