Surging drone while towing!!
I have a new 07' w/ 5K miles. I was towing a 10-11,000 lb. trailer up the grapevine @ 60-65 miles per hour and had a surging sound coming from the engine compartment. If I had to guess I would say it was coming from the area of the turbo, but the boost guage read steady @ 25psi. Tranny temp was 180 and engine temps were normal. No leaks were found after the incident.
Does anyone have any experience similiar? I haven't contacted the dealer yet and I have not modified my truck in anyway.
