I bought my '03 six months ago and am finally catching up on reading alot of the information posted here about the 6.0L. I definitely have a 'drone' around the 1600-1800 rpm range, like posted in the TSB 04-9-4.
My question is whether anyone has removed and replaced the turbo pedestal bracket and did that in fact fix the problem. I can live with it the way it is, but if this bracket replacement works, I would put it on my list of things to work on this spring.
LOL--some of the most sought after parts in the diesel performance world--03 turbo pedastal. I have an 04 and mine drones occassionally. Some people would tell you it's the pipes need "stress" relieved. They may or may not replace it under warranty depending on mileage.
Well I know it may not be a 'performance' mod, but with 3.73 gears I'm in the Drone from about 57-64 mph, and unfortunately I spend alot of driving time on 2-lane country roads and highways that are posted at 55. I usually drive 60-62 on these roads so maybe I should spend the money on a radar detector instead of the bracket.
