Welcome to FTE! I'm glad Bob was able to lend his eyes and help you out. There are quite a few trucks available around the DFW area that show up at swap meets and on Craigslist. I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but if you can let me know, I'll be glad to keep my eyes open around here. The Pate Swap Meet is coming up at the end of April at TMS and there are always lots of projects available there. You might also keep an eye on www.gotexasexports.com They are located in Belton and turn alot of old cars. They even have their own swap meet at least once a year.

I think most of us here, with 20-20 hindsight, would agree that a roadworthy (even barely), more expensive truck in the $2000 range is a better "bargain" than a $500 junker. You won't save any money buying something that's too far gone, especially for your first project. Be patient!
