The sensor is located right next to the place where you fill your engine with oil, the oil fill neck. It is a 1" nut with 2 wires coming out of it. I know because I am currently in need of a new one. I think that I read from cheeperjeeper, that is a Dealer ONLY item. You cant just jot down to the local auto parts store and get one. That is probably your problem, the sensor.

Do check for wires close to the nut, mine had a tendancy to touch due to the wire shielding pulling back out of the nut/silicone. Fan air velocity had an effect as to whether the wires touched or not.
