[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-11-03 AT 09:36 AM (EST)] on my 82 bronco i only have 2 wires going to my alternator, but there are 3 places for wires,i've hook up the positive wire and the other one and have grounded it to the frame, whats the one stud sticking out marked " S "?i have a brand new batterry, starter relay, and electrinic regultor, and the alternator is new,it's not charging my battery. HELP!
Not likely but could be a DOA alternator. Have a parts store test your alternator, they do it for free. Also have them test your battery, could be you have a bad battery, not common but i've also seen DOA batteries that were prob dropped or mistreated during shipping.
After that, i'd double check to make sure all of your wiring was put back where it was supposed to go.
ok ,on my alternator there is a connector marked S, no wire is one it,is one suppose to go there?if so where would it go to?also on my electrinic regulator i have to wires coming from the place marked A,one wire goes somewhere the other is yellow and is cut, where does that go?
