Hello, Im new here and have already learned alot, Im sure this has been addressed many times before but, I believe I have a leak, on the passenger side if you crack the window the smell will burn your eyes, if you stick your head under the wheel well you can smell it, the engine noise is slightley louder on the pass. side as well, I will be doing a better visual inspection tomorrow, what do you guys think the most common problem is? I also wasnt impressed with my mpg , around 14/interstate 2300rpm........my piece is a 99.5 350 crew/dually 4x4
hummm, dually must have 4.10 or 4.30 gears which would hurt the mileage on stock tires, which is probably why your seeing 2300 rpm on the interstate with 14 mpg. what was you average speed at 2300 rpm;;;;;;;;;;;, as for your leak, could be a couple items, i would be under there looking for black sutt on an area from the turbo down. maybe a loose collector or flange.
Could be the up pipes to the turbo. Mine is doing the same thing, but when I turn the fan on high, it sucks the exhaust into the cab. Here is some of the cuurent discussion on the topic-https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...placement.html

my tranny code on the door reads (f2) not sure which gear this is, At 2000rpms im going about 63-65 mph, thanks for all replys
your exhaust leak could be the tude from the front of the manifold to the EBPS..it is on the pasenger side..it could be cracked..i had the same problem last year and thats what i found..
well, thanks everyone, it looks like I didnt have a exhaust leak at all. the smell was coming from my fuel leak (drain)...Its now corrected and evrything is fine, thanks for responses
