ford lean

Why does my f150 have such a bad lean in the front. I just bought a 86 f150 and the front right tire is cambered in real bad. I have not had a chance to really check it out. the tire is tight when you push on it. It looks like it has good ball joints but not really sure. Anyone else have this problem. Thanks for any info.

bad or broken spring would be my guess seems to be a common problem with the ttb axles and twin I beam axles

I'll check that. Could it be a bent I beam.

Make sure the pivot and radius arm bushings are good as well as ball joints (or kingpins if applicable). You need to put the frame on a jack stand such that the tire is off the ground. You may have to use a small "bottle jack" to lift the axles and radius rods to check for play- there shouldn't be any. Us one hand at top and other at bottom of tire and rock it to check for ball joint or kingpin loosness.

The I-beams are pretty stout. Have the truck checked at a TRUCK alignment shop.
