I have a gauge install question?
Trans temp gauge is in and working!
Next I thought the turbo boost gauge would be second most simple install.
Had to buy my gaugues downunder (VDO brand) to get the imperial versions for our stoopid metric system.
Because of that I didn't get a "kit" as such - just a bunch of individual parts - supposedly everything I need - except it never is - theres always something missing!
So
I didn't get any sort of a "T" piece like depicted above - I suspect they think I'm gonna drill and tap the turbo pipe or something - to get the boost pressure, but that ain't gonna happen if I can just "T" off the MAP line!
Anyone know how, what, where, I can order this T piece and what I specify when I order it from my parts store? (Diameter, barb ID & OD) etc etc...cone tight?..
Just hoping someone knows a easy source or description so I get the right one first time!
I think what most of us have done, is go to your auto parts store or hardware store and get the pieces you need. A brass t fitting that is threaded on all three ends. 2 barbed fittings to fit the 1/4 inch line ( I think), 2 small hose clamps, then one fitting that will have a 1/8 compression fitting for you line to the gauge. You should be set. I would also put teflon tape on the threads as well.Good luck Alan
I believe my Autometer came with a useless nylon T that was way too small. Thankfully when I ordered the gauges I asked about the T and they sold the one I needed, 10 bucks for about 4 bucks worth the parts. But I ordered it anyway to save myself the trip to the store. When you buy the parts get the elbow adapter for the hose, otherwise if the hose kinks, its worthless
