Oh no here goes another 6.4 thread. Oh well i'll put some dry wood on the spark.
I dont personally like the look, it has to grow on me. I didn't like the look of the 05 trucks when they came out, but now here i am wanting to convert my truck over to look just like them. I usually don't like to change a good thing, but we can blame the 6.0 and the 6.4 on the nice EPA treehuggers. Or else the trucks would still have the 7.3 in them. And that's changing a GREAT thing for a meager thing.
The only configuration I like is the F-450+ models. The front fender trim is a MUST to me to complete the look. What I wouldn't give to have a 450 King Ranch. That model is the most baddass rig ever. But I agree, a 250 looks goofy to me. Did I mention I love the 450 King Ranch....???

i agree 100% with you...looks especially bad with the paddle mirrors...and have you seen the xl trim...yikes....i cant believe how hideous it is...o well
It's really growing on me too. Just that one stack mod and smoke tune and I love it. Gotta go buy a lottery ticket.
Have you guys seen the 6.4 powerpoint presentation on the 6.4 engine? Says in some cities the exhaust will likely be cleaner than the air the engine pulls in. How is a smoke tune going to work there?
Here it is....well, on second thought since it is a forum, the diesel garage with no spaces and it is a com. It's at the bottom of the page.

I like the F-450 configuration. I am tempted to trade my 7.3 for it but not in the first year of production. The $50,000 price tag may convince me not to trafe up though. I am interested what kind of tricks the DP tuner can play on that new dual turbo setup the 6.4 has.
I personally love the look and wish I could afford one but I am doing good to afford the one I got so I think I will try for one in like 10 years or so.
In the Missouri forum, one of the members there is an ase master tech & fmc master tech. He now has access to the 08 6.4 workshop manuals. In the dtc section there are a few new ones---like p167f (non-oem calibration detected). I wonder how that will affect the tuners?
