At the time I bought mine I just wanted the biggest baddest new truck I could get, and that happens to be the truck listed in my signature. I bought It 7 years , and 227k ago and I am still satisfied with my purchase. I bought a 7.3PSD because they , and the cummins were listed as medium duty engines, well, I had just got rid of a v10 dodge, and the only thing that was a true crew cab and not just an overglorified extended cab was.... You guessed it a SUPER DUTY. I have thought about trading and getting a new truck many times but just could not stand the thought of getting rid of the old girl.
I really wanted heated seats, but the only truck on the lot that had them came with a diesel. Poof! I now own a diesel. But man I love those heated seats. . .
I bought my husband a F250 for valentines a few years back and when he test drove it around the block he had a smile from ear to ear and said, " boy does she ***** and get," we named her Blackbird and she tows beautifully and has great MPGs but the most fun for us was a couple years back driving on a busy road going about 20 a bicyclist pulled up along side of us and hollared "your exhaust stinks!" My knee jerk reaction was to yell back " it's a diesel IDIOT!" So a few yards down the road my hubby decided to fog the crap out of the guy, yes he was in black smoke and it was hilarious! Just a fun story to tell! Enjoy your diesels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't want my only choices to be the Middle East or ANWR. Even if I only run Bio in the summer. My gasser is never going over 10% ethanol without a new motor. And if Jeep ever releases the promised diesel Laredo, I'll trade off my little truck too.
