Speaker Ohm's

Anybody know what ohm rating speaker Ford used in a 1984
Monoraul AM/FM radio. Is it 3.2, 4, or 8 ohms? I am putting one
from a 1984 F/250 into my 76 Maverick (which has a dead
dash speaker) so before I go to Radio Shack to buy a speaker
I need to know. Thanks.

I cant say for sure - but its not likely it was 8ohms. And the diff. between 3.2 and 4 ohms is not worth fussing over - the radio wont hardly know the diff. Id go with the std. 4ohm.

That's kinda what I figured, but wanted to ask anyway.
It's hooked to 8 ohms now and the volume is pretty
soft. I'll switch to a 4 ohm tommorow. Thanks a lot!

Ford Speaker ohm rating

A 1985 Ranger uses 3.2 ohm rated speakers in the dash for the AM radio.
