99a Ford F250. New CPS April 2006.
Current: Two weeks ago pulling into McDonalds, check engine light comes on and goes off, on, off, etc. No problems noted driving.
Scanned computer.....nothing.
Two days ago...driving along, turned into a side road and barely would run, RPM's bounces up and down just like ran out of fuel. Picked back up and ran fine.
Thought maybe it was a dirty fuel filter....changed it today. WONT START.
Tried and tried and tried....wont start.
Happened to notice DEAD TACH when trying to start.
I am guessing another bad CPS?
Everyone agree?
If not, other thoughts are welcome.

CPS. Mine gave me intermittent problems and would cause the engine to just die, with no re start problem. It would also cut out at normal highway speed and then run just fine. It would not show up on the diagnostic as it was intermittent. Tip, install it yourself and save big bucks. I tried to get mine replaced under warranty and the stealership gave me a huge bill, as it was not a failed part-yet.http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/cps.html

Doesn't sound like mine did, but who knows, I'd start there as it seems to be a major problem.
My rig would run just fine until I had to take my foot off of the accelerator (for whatever reason) and then it would just die. It restarted without any problems a few times and then it just went dead. After I went a bought the replacement, it restarted (thought I could drive it home and fix it there) but stalled again after about 15 seconds. Thank God I had my tools in my truck.
Good luck.
