tranny swap
I have a question that does not relate to econoline trucks but here goes anyway, I am restoring a 64 f-100 that has a 223 six in it and I want to swap the four speed for a auto.I know they put this motor in the econoline truck but did they offer a auto. tranny and if it was a option what do i have to do to find out what tranny will work and what I have to do to accomplish this task. Any info will be greatly appreciated thanks Kid

maybe this will help......... the ford 223 six banger came out in 1961 with 2 autos available the ford-o-matic and the HD cruise-o-matic(which came in the bigger trucks f-250, f-350, p-400 .
to do the tranny swap start with making tranny mounts, and possible change in driveshaft length. onch the tranny is in and hooked up to the drive line then set up the shifter and pedals .
