F350custom spoke of an exhaust brake on his motor? Do they have kits out for that now? I drive a Mack lowboy for a local construction company, so I can appreciate having an exhaust brake.
check the pac brake they have alot of exhaust and compression brakes and you can down load the mannuals. the web site is www.pacbrake.com i used alot of diffrent kits from them and didn't have any problems with the product. hope this helps.
Mine is the type that mounts inline with the exhaust pipe. It is a flapper valve that, when actuated, closes off most of the exhaust flow. It's very effective. Mine is electric and I have a 2-speed axle push/pull switch mounted on the shifter to turn it on and off.
Simply out of curiosity, how does it sound? I guess I should ask what exhaust you are running first? Also how expensive is it? Ok- 1 more. Which bank of the motor with true dual exhaust?
Well, it does not sound like the true engine brakes on the big trucks. It has more of a hiss/rushing air mixed with turbo whistle sound to it. I'm still using the Banks turbo 3" single exhaust that the original owner had installed back when the truck was new. I think new exhaust brakes cost around 1000.00 give or take and I don't think you're supposed to use one with dual exhaust if I understand your question correctly.
