The truck is still at Clint's place, he hasn't been able to get it up to me yet. I've been thinking about going down to get it and saving him the trip but it'll have to wait till after my next paycheck, and I'm not too sure how my truck will do on that long a trip anyhow as it wanders a bit and would probably wear me out fighting it that far...
Well, what if I brought it up when I come to get the camper? The only downside to that, is that I can't do it until the latter part of Feb as the rent takes up too much of my early check. I could flat tow it, if Clint has a tow bar, or maybe we can find a trailer somewhere that can carry it.
Sorry, guys - problem is on my end. The truck has a 6 cyl engine and transmission sitting in place, and another 6 cyl in the box. Both have to be lifted out and placed in storage. In addition, the hood and front fenders need to be set in place and a few bolts installed.
It is a complicated dance to get all the right pieces where I can grab them - I have two trucks, two engines, a tow dolly, and a set of fenders in a single lane, and had it set up to install the 6 cyl in the 72.
In addition, I would tow it with my van, which has a over-heat problem that needs to be found and fixed.
All these problems are simple and a few days work will set them straight - except my health has gone to pot and I have been unable to do any work around the house. I still can not bend over, and am very short of breath.
Can I suggest I meet with you guys at Mike's place late Saturday morning? I want to see his projects anyway, and that will be a good run for my van.
Yes,but that's a just a bit further than you need to go...come off of 219-the Salida exit...down to McHenry, then left and follow around in and through Riverbank.
I'm feelin bad that I can't be of more assistance, but I can't open a beer without assistance and Dr./wife won't let me drive yet, that's still a couple of weeks off.
If I understand right, there are 2 6 cyl engines and 2 trans? That would be the one in it and "one in the box", oh, now I get it . . . glazed look . . . I'm on drugs . .
Why not peddle off at least one of those pairs to fund some work/move/parts.
If a 460 & C4 are going in they aren't needed anyway at least not both.
I would think that it would be easier to peddle from the center of the valley than up here, unless someone knows a yard you could get trade value, that's not much but help solve 2 problems in the interim.
Another idea would be, when someone does the engine run to/from Tim's some core charges could be retrieved from the pick n pull unless it's been too long? That's how I understood the deal, but I may/probably have missed something.
I ain't good for much but I can think up "different" ideas, usually late.
