To address the other part of your post, yes, it is a true shame when someone destroys other good parts to get at something else they need. It really makes me sick! Then, people wonder why some yards choose to keep out all traffic while they send in their own employees to remove a part, at a higher cost, usually.
To be a true Ford truck enthusiast, you should respect the other parts on a truck as you remove what you need. Spend the extra 5 minutes to remove the other piece in the way. In some cases, people have taken MORE time to cut up or tear away another part that would have been quicker to remove by unbolting a couple bolts. I caught one young guy with his girlfriend trying to cut apart an instrument cluster to remove the speedo cable. I asked him nicely to stop, and I reached in behind the cluster and pressed in on the release clip, and out came the cable. I told him next time to ask someone around if he needs help removing something. Chances are, someone will be around who is glad to help you with advice or with a tool you may be lacking. I always lend my tools out to help others at the junkyard, and so far, have had every tool returned to me. I do what I can to help people in the Ford hobby, including meeting up with someone to help them with their carb, timing, or other setup work.
I don't think anyone really understands my love for Ford products; Call it weird, but I stand by the Motor Company!
Anyhow, Superbowl score is 22-17 Ind... I better get back to it!
