I read an article today that Fords fourth quarter losses totaled 5.8 Billion which was equivilent to a Mustang covertable loss a minute. That's crazy.
What does this really mean for Ford? Ford will obviously be down to #3 in the automotive industry. What kind of quality of vehicles can we expect from Ford in the future? If the company keeps losing so much money, will they start saving by making "cheaper" quality vehicles while laying off more workers. I'm going to be skeptical if I ever want to buy a New Ford Vehicle in the next couple of years. Maybe I'll just stick to the older stuff.

And if enough people feel as you do, their demise is much more likely.
I'm just saying hopefully that isn't the case. I have been very happy with my 05 F150 and my 03 explorer. I'm just disappointed that Ford isn't the Big #1 anymore. I would think Ford would again strive for that spot again. The Truck series alone won't put Ford back on top. They are going to have to come up with some popular selling vehicles if they want to get back there. It just seems like Ford is going in the opposite direction. I'm a loyal Ford guy and will always be and I would like to see Ford Get back up there.

It's not a big deal, I mean ford expected the looses and the good news is, that it wasn't as much as they thought it would be. They don't expect to be in the black untill 09. The cost are largly do to restructuring cost. They out sold chevy and toyota in 06, so it's not like thier not selling anything. Thats why they got that big loan, to carry them through untill the restructuring is fully implemented. Ford has been saying this for a year now, they exspect huge looses. Evey time they post looses, then people start crying, the sky is falling. Ford will out out of this a leaner, meaner company, but you have to give them time to get all thier changes made. I know it looks scarey, but they allowed for this and knew it was going to happen, not a surprise for ford.
Ford brand was #1 this year.. FoMoCo was either 2 or 3 overall though. Part of the reason they are losing so much money is making new quality vehicles that people actually want to buy.
Acording to ford thier loosing so much money due to restructuring, as they knew they would. They have been saying it for over a year now. So people don't continue to get so excited, they are plan on loosing more untill 09.
