I purchased an Xcal 2 (or so i think) from one of the forums sponsors (I will not name them yet).. and I have a few questions..
First.. Let me just say that I ordered this item back on Dec 27th.. and I recieved it today, nearly a month later.. Shipped to the wrong address no less. I have recieved only one call back from their shop (total of two calls in the whole ordeal).. and they never pickup their shop phone. Now.. I understand that the shipping fiasco could have been a misscommunication but the lack of phone calls I will have to say I'll never order another product from them.. and would never reccomend anyone else doing the same..
Now my question is.. I have this Xcal.. and well.. the shipping box wasn't open but the Xcal plastic surround was..
How do I tell if the Xcal2 is truely an Xcal2.. From what I've see in pictures it actually says Xcal2 on the casing.. No where other than the users manual and a warning notice does it mention anything about it item being an Xcal2..
The serial number (which also looks replaced) is: A0***05DCB (pm for number)
I just may be a little uneasy because I do not trust this company and am thinking "worst case" senario here.. but i just want to make sure.. thanks for your help guys!
Also, not that its going to matter in most cases, but the Xcal 2 SF can be converted to an XCal 2 using a utility on their site. I recommend not doing this unless you need someone to custom tune it for special modifications (other than intake/exhaust). The conversion is one way only, so never convert unless you are absolutely certain and have someone lined up to custom tune it... otherwise you'll be stuck with an unusable tuner.
Only caveat about converting it to a custom tuner from the pre-packaged one, is.....
it'll be MUCH faster with the right tuner and there's lot's of the vendors here....
Personally, I would like to know the vendors name - so you save ME from a bad experience.... course it's best to try and work it out with the vendor first...
Does he know your login name here andthat you posted this ???
give them a chance to make it right... then blast away
