I have a 2000 Limited with 140,000 miles. The body mounts under the feet of the driver and front passenger squeak like a stuck pig when the truck flexes at all (like every corner or dip in the road). I looked under the truck and can see the rubber mounts but I can't tell how to get them off to grease them up. Does anyone know of a way to take them off to service them? Are there any polyurethane replacements? Mostly I just want to know how to get to the bolts that hold them on.
i did the same on my 01. it takes like 2 minutes.. and thats to reinstall it too. i removed the bolt, poured engine oil on it. reinstalled the bolt, it stopped for a couple days. i think that its the bolt rubbing on the metal. not the mount itself. i think it needs some never seize.
I was thinking that I'd put a jack under the body and lift it up off the mounts a little. That would give some space to put some grease or something in there. Wonder if that would last longer?
