New Owner

I am the proud owner of an F250 / PSD / Crew Cab Short Bed, which I've had for a couple of months now. I've never owned a pickup truck let alone a diesel. I bought it used with 79k and change for under 25k. I don't know how to find out if this truck has had all of the scheduled maintenance. I am concerned that this truck may not have been broken in properly although it runs great.

The first month I had the truck I had the dealer do the 82k mile service, replace all fluids and filters and check the vehicle from top to bottom. I found a small leak from the rear of the engine (possibly the high pressure cover). The dealer added dye to the oil and will check it again later to see if its covered by the warranty. I change the oil every 200 hrs of engine time with the best oil the deal has and every time I fill up I try to get the highest cetane rating I can. I'm hoping to learn enough about the trucks to keep it going for awhile.

I've driven classic range rovers for years and my wife and I still stand in the driveway and look at the truck and say: "man, thats a big truck". I have to stand on the tire to look in the engine compartment. This truck is a lot bigger than what I'm used to, but it is a joy to drive.

Yes, 05ccsb welcome to FTE and the 6.0 forum
When you get a chance you might want to cruise over to our Tech Folder for some great 6.0 info.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/303583-6-0l-diesel-tech-folder.html

Please take a few moments to read our site guidelines as well.

I recommend that you have your Ford dealer provide an OASIS report for you. This report will detail and work that was preformed at any Ford dealership this truck may have had service at. Including warranty.

Good luck with your toy.
