I hate having to slow down or stop when I am going at least 40mph because my truck shakes..I had new front pads installed not to long ago and the disk according to my mechanic looked good but that was at least 7-8 months ago..any clues?

The brake rotors.. the surface the pads rub against when you hit the brakes.
The may visually look fine, but that doesn't mean they aren't warped. Variation of as little as .005" can cause a noticeable vibration.
If you have four wheel drive, once you take the brake calipers and brackets off the rotor should just come off.
If you have rear wheel drive you have to remove the wheel bearings to get the rotor off as well. While they are off you'll want to repack them with grease and install new grease seals... or... find a shop that has an on-the-car brake lathe that can resurface them without having to remove them.
