I use mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 and a K & N oil filter. If you have a high mileage 300 you probably don't want to switch over to a synthetic oil though. Any brand name oil is really okay as long as you change it when your supposed to. I've used quakerstate in the past with good luck, penzoil I dislike, but you'll find everyone has a different opinion on oil too. Pick one and if you like it stick with it.

Unless you will see a lot of very cold weather (like much below 0F), I would run 10w30. Maxlife would be a good choice. BTW, what year is your 300 I6?

I'd probably run conventional or blend for 6 month intervals in your situation. The owner's manual for my '95 says for the 4.9L, 5.0L, and 7.5L engines that 10w30 is preferred for temps above 0 F. For temps below 0 F 5w30 is preferred. They also allow use of 5w30 up to 60 F.

I run regular valvoline 10-30 in mine and usually switch to 5-30 in the winter.
