Well for the 3rd time now in 4 months my 05 6.0 will only idle. Will not rev at all.
First time they replace several fuel valves???
Second time re-flashed, total maintenance done, and replaced the throttle sensors.
Third time...Now they are replacing the entire Wireing Harness.
By the way they "HOPE" this will fix it. I hope so also since they have had it 7 days this time.
I called Ford Customer Servive in hopes they would extend my warranty, since it has 31k on it...NO DICE. They logged my issue for future reference...Now I feel better.
Sorry to rant, but really am sick of the issues.
Mine did that after I installed driving lights. I use a fuse in the dash to power my switch that went to my relay on my IPF's. It would just all the sudden stop going. Upluged the lights and all was well. Had to find another fuse.
Sounds like your dealers Service Technicians are guessing at the problem and throwing parts on your truck instead of diagnosing what the problem is. This type of Service Department issue has been addressed in this forum on many occasions.
Confirm that the Service Department working on your PSD has Certified 6.0 Technicians and if they do not then locate the nearest Ford service department that has one or more. Your truck may be getting parts replaced that it does not actually need and this seems likely if the problem is not getting fixed.
I hope you get it fixed soon because it's a great truck!
Good, advice Russ. Some of the connectors under the dash have been the culprit of this problem in the past. I noticed on my 03 and on my 05 as well the metal in the dash is highly unfinnished, and has many sharp edges. Could be an issue for any wiring not securely attached. I would start by poking around or looking there as its pretty easy to get to most of it.
