Wiper problems...

I know when my wipers went wacky and then quit in my s10 there was a lil electrical circuit board that went bad do rangers have one as well.. I replaced the switch that tends to go bad...

Yes. Follow the wires down from the switch and you should find a black box mounted under the dash somewhere.

do you know what this part is called so i can hunt for a replacment?

On a 86 ranger they call it a "Intermittent wiper governor".
