Swapping outside temperature sensor

Hi all, I'm a new member...Like Ford Trucks! Got 1979 F150 4X4 400ci Bored, cammed, Big 'ol tires. My son calls it the Barney truck 'cause it's kinda purple. And a 2003 f150 xlt screw, plus a 2004 f150 lariat screw. Told ya I like 'em. Anyway, got an open question for you all to ponder. I recently noticed my 2004 outside temp reading is constantly 5-6 degress F lower than what my 2003 displays, the 2003l is very acurrate as per local radio stations and retail/bank temp signs. Anybody know if I can swap the 2003 with the 2004 to see if the problem follows sensor? I hear there is some "re-programming" that could also fix it.

Hello and Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts!

You will need to post your question in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. Click on the forums tab and that will display the list of choices for you. I would suggest trying this one: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum24/

Also check out the chapter forums, they're a great way to find out what is happening near you.

Enjoy the site!
