Hi to all,
My '03 Supercrew, which I purchased in April of '03, has 64,000 miles on it.
It really runs great. No leaks, steers great. I really like it. I just changed the antifreeze for the fiirst tiime.
Now when do I have the sparkplugs changed? I have always changed the plugs mself since I had my fist car which was a 1937 Ford.
I am not about to attempt this. I am going to a dealer.
Thanks,
Ned
It's not that hard of a job. A little time consuming but do-able. The plugs are good for 100K miles but it's not a bad idea to replace them around 75-80K. The reason for replacing them at that point is so that they don't become too attached to the head. I changed mine at 73K and didn't have any trouble.
If you have the money, it will run around $300, I'd do them now. There are too many bad things that can happen the longer they are in. To save a little cash buy the plugs at NAPA or where ever motorcraft/autolite plugs are the cheapest. Also it is a good idea to replace the COP boots, get them anywhere but the dealer as well, should run $10-$20 ea. for the boots.
Just realized you have an '03 so the spitting problem isn't existent with yours so you could go a hair longer if need be.
