Let me start off and say I have a 1996 Bronco XLT with 16" Weld Racing rims. My current tires are Goodyear AT/S 265-75-R16 in load range D. They no longer make the AT/S tire and have replaced the model with "Silent Armor" models. I am extremely happy with the AT/S's, (so don't suggest a different brand.) My issue is they no longer make load range "D", they make these tires in C or E. Tire Rack tells me the ride is decreased about 20% with E vs. C range tires. Which should I buy? It is a Bronco, not a F250, so it is not like I am hauling bricks around in the bed. I use it to pull a boat at times, but I cannot think the tongue weight is more than 500 lbs. What is your experience? This in mostly an on-road vehicle. Occasional dirt/snow driver, but no hard core wheeling.
I've got C-range tires on mine, and never have any problems. I haul my horse trailer locally, which weighs right around 7500lbs fully loaded, and the tires have never had any problems.
