lines or filter assembley or both?

hi there i have a 1998 ford f150 4x4. its a single cab with a 4.6 liter. now i noticed oil leaks on my lines that go to and from the filter assembley, can they be changed or will i need a whole new assembley.

the lines themselves can be changed, just did it on a 99.... the lines bolt onto the engine and the remote filter as well... undo all the bolts from the remote filter, then the nuts on the engine (the studs stay there) and pull the whole thing out from the filter end. Remove the filter assembly on the bench and install the new lines.Reverse this to install. Spray the nuts on the engine side beforehand with some penetrating oil, I had to cut one off with a dremel as it was too tight to remove and stripped.... good luck!!

Is there a puddle under the truck or are the lines just oily?

haha no puddle, haha nope its leaky lines. leaves oil marks in the snow when im parked.
