First one is I bought a used Ride rite air suspension kit. I have call all over but i cant find the install hieght for the bags. The bags look like 2 donuts or two inertubes stacked on each other. I look at firestone.com but couldnt find the spec. Anyone?
Sencondly There are 4 or 5 wires on the left side under the hood by the master cylinder. The are taped off and say to read the builders manuel for instructions. What are these for and do they have power on them? I need a place for my power on my compressor.
Thanks in advance for your help. This board is nice to have. I'm new to SD's and you have save me so much time already. Again Thanks
I run 15 psi when empty and up to 100 psi when I have real heavy loads on the truck...I have a manual fill system so I can't help you with the compressor wiring.
Racin, what exactly are you looking for? When you say the install height, are you trying to find out if it will lift your vehicle empty or if you have enough room to install them? what are you looking to do with them? tow? and what vehicle do you have?
I have a 00 F250 I tow alot i dont have over loads so i am putting in air bags as a spring assist. I dont know how tall the bags should be at no load with no air in them. They sit on the spring and i dont know where to drill the holes in the frame. If you set them on the floor they will stand. SO should i just in stall them at that height?
No you shouldnt set them up with out of the box at that height, wont be much room to expand when you add air and they wont rise as much. Tell me which kit you have and I can make a call to a friends shop to make sure of the application and see if he knows the actual height. I can tell you that mine installed with no air the 2 donuts are about an 1inch high each donut. they looked really squished. Mine was a no drill kit. Also is your truck a 4x4? extra cab? crew cab?
I found her it is between 5 and 6.5 inches they are 2071's. any help on the wires by the master cylinder? 00 F250 xtended cab 4x4 One other question were can you put in your signature?
Funny, this is the second time those wires have come up this week, lol. They will do the job just fine for your compressor, as you will find a matching connector under your dash, so you can wire your up/down/hot etc...
You can also plumb in a ride-height valve in the back so it fills/drains as needed. The valve mounts on the frame and is linked to the axle by an adjustable arm, so when the bed is below your setting it adds air, when above, it drops the air. They're about 40 bucks at any truck dealer.
5-6.5 inches is correct, I looked it up and found it, as far as the wires under the hood, I think Tom answered your question, Im not sure I manually fill mine when I tow. As far as editing your sig, you cant do it until you have 25 posts, after that it will appear in the cp user area.
