I have an '05 S-crew F-150 4x4 W/a 5.4 and I was wondering if you guys have had any experience with a block heater in one similar to this, either coming from the factory or after market, I can;t seem to find one if it's there form the factory. Thanks!
This question was knocked around a bit awhile ago. Poking around the Edmunds site, I found this in the '07 F150 options listing:
41H Engine Block Heater (Available in all states with valid FIN code. Standard and only available in the following states: AK, MN, ND, SD, MT, WI and WY.)
Only available in those states.... another decision by Ford that I don't quite understand. It must be too complicated anymore to just sell a block heater to anyone that wants to order it, sheesh. We seem to be heading back to the "Any color you want as long as it's black" days.
It was suggested before to measure a freeze plug and buy one at an auto parts store.
That is soooo stupid. I don't see Idaho on the list. Yeh, I live in Lost Wages now, but I am going to move back to Idaho. In the central Idaho mountians it still gets -10 to -30 at night, even with the climate change. Uhh gee Ford, maybe I would like a block heater, you block heads!
