Tritron 4.6 w/knock while under load
I've got 72K miles on my F150 and about 5K miles ago I developed a pinging / knocking while I'm pulling up hills or have a load in the bed. I've switched over to synthetic oil (thinking that the oil change place gave me cheap oil) and ran some injector cleaner though with the fuel. No help. Does anybody have any ideas on what to check?

The new engine will knock a little. Engines are actually most efficient under very slight detonation. This is according to ford anyway. You may try running a bottle of berryman's fuel system cleaner. Carbon buildup will increase detonation.

I agree with adding the stuff to the fuel tank.. I use it alot on our fleet at work when the Fords start to ping a lil. Might be a knock sensor on the engine also but that would (should) throw a code.
