CLUNK when putting van into Park

Hi all,
I have a 1988 E-350 with 4.9 I-6 cylinder and three speed auto tranny. I am getting a loud clunk when I put the van into park after I've been driving. Sometimes I also hear the clunk (but not as loud) when switching from drive to reverse or vice-versa.
The clunk is coming from the direction of the tranny. Do you think its just a worn front u-joint, or something worse?

Hi Tyler, It probably is your u-joints, you can check them by push & pulling on the
drive shaft, up & down, Side to side, if there is movement they need replaced.
