John

I like the 1st picture best. The second one looks a little tacky to me. The 1st truck looks like it's a 1940 also. If you notice, the center hood chrome is thin like the 40. The 41 has a noticably wider chrome piece.

Also - did you check out all of the 1940 & 1941 truck in the 2 sites that "41ron" posted? I looked at every one of them at lunch today. We have a DSL line at work and the internet works about 100xxx faster than this phone line system here at home.

The one thing I noticed that I really like in all of the picture's I've looked at is that NOBODY is using a paint color anywhere near what Steve & I chose. We're going with the original green and I haven't seen anything in this color, car or truck. That gives us something a little different than everyone else without being loud.

Thanks for the pictures.

Carlene,Yeah I checked out all the pictures last night on a phone line modem, took forever, my wife wants to go loud with ours because it is choppeddid you see the pictures of it I posted them on the same post where yours is. I just need to find the hood. If you want to see how the t-bird rear fits in let me know I have pictures of it thru the bed (it has no floor yet) it will be a lot stronger to hold the power of the newer engine.

John -

Being chopped you almost have to go wild. We're going for the plain but striking look. Still want to make heads turn but with all the built in character the 1940 & 41 has, even primer does the job. I know that cause there's a 41 that runs around here that still is only primered and my head still turns. It's just a great looking truck style.

As far as the rear end, Steve's putting a Ford 9" in it and planning on using a bolt on kit from Chassis Engineering since he's seen how well the kit fits. A guy we met at a show in Daytona has an Orange 41 & used their kits and said that work well and are little trouble to install.

John,
I've just recently found this site and it looks like you may be going the same place I am.
I've just finished the chassis work on my '41. Did a complete strip, sandblast, repaint. Before painting I installed an IFS with 11" discs, front swaybar and rack and pinion steering. In the rear I have an early model Thunderbird 9" with 11" discs, parallel leafs, panard bar and swaybar. The power train is set up for a 351W I'm building in front of a C4.
I plan to make the exterior and interior of the truck as original appearing as possible.
I have a question if I may? Do you have any pictures of how the hood hinges attach at the cab? My truck came disassembled and I can't figure them out.
Thanks.
Don
