What do you guys think about fitting in a set of Military 6TL battery's into my 250? I spent 3 yrs in the Active Army and IIRC, those 6TL battery's were Severe duty batteries, I mean, cold cranking fire breathing monsters!!!
Check out this site http://www.stock-number.com/HUMMV-HMMWV-control-box.php
Scroll half way down and take a gander at that hulking battery.
I imagine I could make it fit. I am very interested, just wonder what you guys think.
looks cool, wonder how much they run. it says not to overcharge em, so its a deep cycle battery right? how would you run one of those in your truck? or do you disconect it when you start up?
Yeah, you do have to service them, I remember the days in the Army motorpool, spending an entire week going around to each humvee and truck to test the battery's with an electrolyte tester, one of those ones that you smear some battery water onto a lens, and view through the eyepiece to see the reading. At the end of the week I hade pretty little burn holes all in my clothes, like a speckled egg...lol but yeah, when taken care of, I dont know of any battery that would out do a 6TL. Especially the crap we put them through during field excercises, -20F, cranking over Cummins 8.3L inline 6's, Cummins 903 c.i. V8's , and hummvee 6.5's , and those battery's never gave us any B.S., they just cranked, anytime, anywhere.
Hence the reason I am looking into buying 2 of them.
