Single Door Window Conversion

I have seen a few custom trucks that remove the vent glass and install a single door glass window. More like what are on newer vehicles. Has anybody seen this or done this. I want to delete the vent window and go with a single glass install

not trying to dissuade you but why do you want to get rid of the wing windows??
i own a newer small truck and have driven several diffrent new model trucks, and in every one of them was wishing i had the wing windows, they work great for moving just small amountw of air throught the cab without the noise of opening the whole window.

Since the strap type door hinge is in the way of any front track or guide system in the 61-66 style FoMoCo F Series trucks, I'd like to see how they made it a single window that goes up & down without changing the hinges and/or operation of the doors.

i was kinda curious about the same thing because in one of the new truck mags they have an article about doing a .... think it was a c10. the doors on 67 on up are different from the set up on 61-66.

saw single door window on 67-72 truck on Ebay

I saw this truck on Ebay. It was a 67-72... It opened normally, but could not remember if the door hinges were different.... but it definitely had a single pane of glass.

Me too!!! One of the many reasons I like the old truck is because they have a wing window!!!!!

Something would have to be done with the hinge pockets in the door.... I've saved a set of power windows off a Lincoln that may someday wind up in a bumpside...... (not the glass, just the mechanism)
