Pretty simple question...is it possible to shorten the frame of a longbed 2003 F250 6.0 diesel and put a short bed off a crew cab or super cab? I've seen it done on 1/2 ton ford and chevys but not or a 250. Thanks
For a real simple answer, yes it is possible. They make stretch limo's, and they can shorten one too. You need to think about the frame, exhaust, driveline, and smaller stuff like parking brake cables and fuel tank. Since the axles area of the frame has the "hump" going upwards, the frame would probably have to be cut in the straight section, then re-attached by either welding it or heavy riveting or bolts. Not sure how sturdy that would turn out though. I probably missed a few things, but that's a general idea of what needs to be done. Might be easier and safer to just swap trucks.
Hmmmm.....Why? You would be spending lots of money just to basically make it into less of a truck. The 'bang for the buck' is just not there. Hmmmm.......

IHbase, thats the easy way out. If he builds his truck himself, it is his CUTOM built truck. Yes it may cost alot, but in the end what is more saticfieing, havin a stock shortbed ford hoped up, or a cutom built custom design, hoped up truck. Some would say its just beating a dead horse, but if i had the money for that kind of a build, i would do it. I mean i wouldnt shorten the bed, but if i had the money there would be many changes made, not just tuning but some stuff that you dont see everyday.
