As i have posted before I am probobly going to trade out my 351W for a 88 fuel injected 5.0 out of a stang. Now I have the centech harness to install in the bronc when it gets back from the body shop. I have the complete wiring harness and computer from the stang. Is it hard to "add" this to the centech harness? What modifications are involved ? Has anyone out there completed this?
I would call Centech and talk to them before you install the harness. They may have a specific harness for this aplication. If not, they will have your answer.
I have installed a couple Centech harnesses, but I haven't integrated EFI into one yet. There are enough extra circuits and options that it should not be a big task.
Off the top of my head, you will need 2 wires for a key on, engine running signal, a constant 12V to power relays, and 3 grounds. And then you will need a key on 12V source to power the oxygen sensor heaters.
I used 2 relays that were triggered by the key on, engine running and from a key on source. I then had those outputs, along with constant 12V power and clean ground from the batteries and chassis ground going into a sealed distribution box where I could supply ECM power and ground.
I did ask before I ordered my harness if it was compatible to add fuel injection later, they did say yes. I am going to get the harness installed first, then maybe over next winter deal with it...
