54 256 water pump
I have a 256 truck engine with a leaking water pump (just got it started after having it about 9 months or more) I have a water pump for 55 or 56. Will it work on my engine?

Possibly. Only one way to find out. However, I suspect you will find the '56 impeller to be a touch too large for the EBZ housing.
If the replacement has a part code that starts EBU, EBZ or EBV, I give a 90% chance you are in business. Otherwise, no.
