2004 Grill Assembly?

Hey all. I have seen a local ad for a 2004 superduty grill assembly for $50. What a steal if it is the new grill. Can anyone tell me if it is the new one or the same I have? Mine is obviously an 01.

Same as you have, Mike.

The new type, like this one.....http://www.forddirect.fordvehicles.c...ncoming_es.gif

.... is only on the 05-07 trucks.

You can indeed install the newer grill onto our older trucks, but the bottom of it needs to be shaved slightly. I think you might be able to find pre-cut ones on Ebay for not too much dough.

If I were to install the newer grill, I'd do it that way and keep my bumper, as I like our bumpers better than the 05+ ones... ours look tougher to me.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about on Ebay... looks pretty cool:

More expensive than I remembered, though.

In order to install the newer grill w/out trimming the bottom, you need the newer bumper and all that, also.

I bought a pair of the the newer bold grills for my 2 pickups from a fella in North Carolina....made contact with him through his E-bay ad. Gave $300 apiece...percision cut and everything fit real nice. I too like the look of the newer grill with our bumpers....LOT'S OF CHROME!

wow, that is more than I paid when I bought mine. I wonder why prices have gone up. You would think with the new front end a month away, the prices would drop.
