I don't know if any of you watch "Supernatural" on the CW network but a 48-50 F2 or F3 made about a 20 second appearance on the show last night. It was red with black fenders and looked stock except had the wrong radio antenna on it which was installed in the wrong place.
Albu, you are right. The show is filmed here in Vancouver and around the lower mainland. My wife is a regular watcher. I missed last nights episode but i'm going to ask her if she noticed the truck. I doubt she did.

Sorry, i didn't see the show or the truck and as suspected when i asked my wife if she saw a red and black truck on the show she said ya sort of..... was it yours??? I have a 56. Not that i expect her to tell the difference but i thought since she walks past mine everyday she might notice one on the show. Ya right.... if she taped the show i'll have a look and see if it was a Merc.
I was watching a 'Little Einsteins - the big/huge trip" movie with my 3 year old daughter this afternoon. For those without grand kids or young ones....Little Einsteins is some cartoon on disney or ? Anyway all of the sudden a cartoon group of caterpillars come driving down the road in a 1948 -1950 green ford f1 pickup truck. Thought this was kind of odd. The writers of this childrens show must relate to these old trucks some how.
Anyway, not sure if this counts or not, but it was the best part of the cartoon for me (not my daughter though).
I saw that red and black Ford on Supernatural last night. It was only on the screen for about 2 seconds. All I know for sure is that it was a long box and looked stock. Didn't sound like any flathead I ever heard though. That doesn't mean much though. The audio effects they use for that black Chevy 4 door aren't likely what it actually sounds like either.
I'm kinda confused about the `48-`52 paint schemes. Were tu-tone black fender Ford pickups sold in the US too, or just in Canada? Also, were all Mercury trucks painted that way?

My understanding from comments on here over the years is that all Canadian trucks were tu-tone (black fenders) in the Bonus Buiilt era, at least in the F-1/F-2 range. I don't believe any US trucks came that way.
I've never been clear on whether they were sold as both Ford and Mercury in Canada? Or were they all Merc's?
