2005 Ford Explorer with the foolowing problems, maybe one of you has a logical answer to these problems:
1. Steering column locks and won't unlock--Ford said don't leave the tires turned hard right/left. Seems like a dumb answer.
2. Truck sat for 2 weeks, wouldn't start (dead battery)--Ford said battery checks out fine and they can't replace it unless it tests bad.
3. Tire inflation symbol lights up and beeps. Tires have 35psi.--Ford couldn't duplicate problem
4. When A/C is on the vents on the floor, right side, blow cold air and freeze your ankles off. We stuff them with tissues--Ford said that't the way it is.
Truck has 9,500 miles and is less than 18 months old.
No, No, No, that's not the way it is. Take it back and get them to fix all of the items on your punch list. Talk to another service writer, or the service manager. These are all fixable items.
Battery problem may be something that is discharging/draining the battery when it sits. It should all be covered under warranty, so make them fix it. Also, make them give you a loaner as an incentive for them to get right the first time.
Have them put it back on the computer. The codes are off. My 2005 went had a few problems and they found out it had a recall, been fine since it was re compuerized.
