Okay FORD replaced my turbo with no charge!!! But the tech said the wheel was melted!! We can't figure out what happened. The one thing I thought of was once I had the truck detailed and they cleaned under the hood really well but then it ran like crap on the way home where I found a hose disconnected. I think it was the MAP line at the Y. It wass the black hose that connects to the front of the Y. I put it back on and it ran fine until the torbo problem. Could that have caused a turbo problem? Thanks
No, the map sensor just would not have seen any boost, so the pcm will default to a preset fuel delivery, which is low, the reason why it didn't have any power.
Melted?????, it makes me think that the turbine wheel was rubbing the housing, i remember what mine looked like when it rubbed the housing, and I can see how the mech would describe it as melted.
that pic is a few years old, i was going through some old pics and found it. I thought it would make a good avatar. I was hanging out with my best friend (since kindergarden), told him i was getting new tires the next day, and he got that evil grin on his face ..................
To add to the humor, this was in the parking lot of my old high school. The neighbors of the school came out of their house to see what was going on, there was so much smoke, they probally thought the school was on fire
I'm glad you noticed it!!!
My friend, the photographer, wanted me to add this:
Jason,
Add a note on how you sprayed the photographer with rubber when you started doing doughnuts!
